Conservation of Old Stuctures

We have a project of designing a concourse for an exsting suburban station…

The building is hundred years old, considerably small, as this station serves mostly for local trains…

So while designing concourse what is desired to highlight the structure (which does not have that much aesthetic value) or to envelope it within concourse…?
